Effects

The effects of alcohol range from states of relaxation and good mood, after consumption, to drowsiness and loss of consciousness. This is the main reason that leads to intense police surveillance over drivers that alcohol, and justifies their support in public opinion.

Some people become very violent under the influence of alcohol, and about one in ten regular consumers become addicted alcoholics.

Prolonged use of alcohol causes injury to the body, especially the liver, and can also cause irreversible damage to the brain. Pregnant women who drink alcohol are at risk of having children with brain injuries and low intelligence.
